Is there such thing as the "magic" weight loss pill?

Is there such thing as the "magic" weight loss pill?

Modern medicine has given us a number of miracles in a bottle. We have pills for arthritis, pills for heartburn, pills for heart trouble. We have pills that will help us wake up in the morning, pills that will help us digest our afternoon meal, and pills that will enable us to sleep at night. We live in a pill-popping society.

Because of the number of medications available, we often turn to pills to cure what ails us--no matter what our trouble might be. Whether it's physical or emotional, we may believe that medication will take care of the problem. As a result, it's not surprising that a number of us also turn to diet pills in an effort to control our weight.

There are a number of advantages to using diet pills when trying to fight fat. To begin with, diet pills are quick-acting--we may see results after only a little bit of time has elapsed. As a result, we may gain confidence and lose even more weight as a result of our success with diet pills. Other people--friends, relatives, co-workers--may notice our weight loss and may compliment us as a result. Consequently, we may be motivated to work even harder at our weight loss.

Diet pills are also convenient. We can keep them in our medicine cabinet or kitchen cupboard. We can take a pill in the morning and not have to worry about our weight for the rest of the day. We don't have to do a great deal of research, as is required when we are trying to determine which diet to try. In addition, taking a diet pill is hardly as strenuous as running five miles or swimming ten laps.

Moreover, diet pills can help us to shift some of the responsibility for losing weight to another entity. No longer is it simply up to us to control our weight. We look to the pill to resolve our weight problem, once and for all. This can help to lower our anxiety, reducing our stress level.

But there are also serious disadvantages to using diet pills. For instance, there is the possibility that we will become addicted to the medication. This can take a toll on not only our physical health, but our emotional health as well. We may become too dependent on the pills, expecting them to solve our weight problems.

Diet pills also teach us nothing about good nutrition. You do not have to learn about proper diet if you are depending on a pill to take your excess weight away. As a result, an individual may never discover the importance of healthy eating, and his or her overall health could suffer as a result.

In addition, there is no such thing as a quick fix when it comes to weight loss. While you might lose weight for a time after taking diet pills, you could quickly regain the weight, once you go off the pills. As a result, diet pills fail to provide a life-long approach to healthy weight maintenance.

Given the pros and cons of diet pills, you might be wondering whether they would be right for you. Check with your family physician. He or she is in the best position to assess your overall health and determine whether diet pills would be appropriate in your particular case. Secondly, consider consulting with a nutritionist. He or she can help advise you about whether to take diet pills.

Diet pills are a huge industry within the U.S. So, there is a great deal of marketing, urging you to purchase these so-called wonder drugs. But, before you buy, you have to seriously consider whether these pills could jeopardize your health. While it may be important for you to lose weight, it is even more important for you to shield your body from harm.

Weight loss is not miraculous. It takes a great deal of dedication and perseverance. Therefore, it is unlikely that you will find the secret to weight loss in a bottle. By changing your diet and exercising, you might notice only incremental changes in your weight. However, over the long term, you might be better able to maintain healthy weight loss by sticking with the tried-and-true formula of diet and exercise.

Staying Motivated: An Important Factor in Weight Loss

If You Are Not A Certified IDIOT and Want to Loss Your Weight INSTANTLY Then CICK HERE

>>  WEIGHT LOSS INSTANTLY - SIMPLE DIET PLAN THAT MAKES YOU CRAZY - CLICK HERE <<

If you are attempting to fight fat, it is simply not enough to begin an exercise program. You must also be able to stick with it. This can be challenging, especially if you have spent most of your life as a couch potato. You may find exercise to be boring or a chore. And you may be wondering whether your exercise program is really worth the effort.

It should be noted that the key to a successful exercise program is perseverance. This means that you need to commit to it for the long haul--in fact, it is best if you commit to it for the rest of your life. Certainly, it can be difficult at times. But in the end, it is well worth the effort you exert.

Staying motivated may begin with having a tangible goal. For instance, if you are basically inactive when you start your program, you should aim to burn off 500 calories a week. If you are fairly active when you start exercising, your goal should be 1,000 calories. But you must also have a long-term goal. This might be doubling the amount of calories you burn within six months of commencing your exercise program.

You might consider starting an exercise log. Here, you will record exactly what kind of aerobic, anaerobic, and stretching exercises you do each week. Be sure to include the number of repetitions you're performing with each exercise. This way, you'll have a concrete chart for your progress. Seeing how well you're doing can be truly inspiring and can keep you going when you find it difficult to go on.

Another effective motivational strategy is to join a group that engages in some kind of exercise. For instance, you might become a mall-walker or you might find a local square dance club to join. Other possibilities include hiking groups, golfing groups, softball teams, or even ping-pong teams. The fact that you are part of a social network will help to keep you motivated.

You might try psyching yourself out by using a computer screensaver which says, "Get moving." Or you might post a "get moving" sign on your refrigerator. In other words, you should be constantly reminded of the value of exercise. You might also invest in home exercise equipment such as a treadmill, elliptical trainer, or free weights. The amount of money you spend could be a powerful incentive for making sure that you use the equipment on a regular basis. You should also place the equipment in a prominent place so that you have to pass it often. After a while, you'll find no excuse not to exercise.

You might also consider investing in exercise videos or DVDs. These allow you the convenience of exercising in the privacy of your own home. They can also give you an electronic "exercise buddy" who can help keep you inspired even on rainy days when you don't feel like exercising at all.

Another effective idea is to place your athletic shoes near the door so that you are reminded of the need to walk rather than drive. You might also consider rewarding yourself for keeping with your exercise program. Your reward could be as elaborate as a cruise or as small as a treat from the dollar store. The idea is to make sure that your accomplishment is celebrated.

While we're on the topic of celebration, seriously consider throwing a party once you've reached an exercise milestone. You can serve nutritious snacks and beverages and even encourage your guests to come in their athletic wear in order to build upon the party's theme. Sharing your joy can help to motivate you to continue your physical activities.

It should be said that there is no right way to exercise. But you do need to make sure that whatever you do is effective and that you're sufficiently motivated to do it. By following just a few simple tips, you can ensure that your exercise routine is not just a fad, that it will continue over the long term. Remember that you may face setbacks from time to time, but that shouldn't stop you from continuing to try to reach your exercise goals.

Ephedra and Weight Loss

If You Are Not A Certified IDIOT and Want to Loss Your Weight INSTANTLY Then CICK HERE

>>  WEIGHT LOSS INSTANTLY - SIMPLE DIET PLAN THAT MAKES YOU CRAZY - CLICK HERE <<

Ephedra has been used in ancient China for thousands of years as a treatment for allergies and asthma, but more recently has been touted as a weight loss product here in North America. From the Ephedra Educational Council web site:

"More than 15 million consumers a year benefit from Ephedra, with only a minute fraction reporting problems to the FDA. Any risk of inappropriate use must be balanced against the health benefits accruing to millions of Americans. The nation's obesity epidemic creates a personal and public imperative for weight control, and 98 million Americans must not be denied an option for improving their health without conclusive scientific evidence."

Many people ask if taking ephedra will help them achieve the weight loss they desire. Ephedra can certainly encourage weight loss when it is taken in conjunction with a proper diet and exercise program aimed at losing pounds. There is absolutely no substitute for a healthy lifestyle. Using ephedra on its own is not likely to allow anyone to change their weight significantly. Ephedra does seem to have an appetite suppressing effect, as well as a thermogenic effect. Ephedra stimulates the central nervous system which allows the body to burn more calories by increasing metabolism.

Anyone wishing to lose weight must follow the very basic principle of calories in versus calories out. In order to lose any weight, more calories must be used in a day than are consumed. This will allow for a caloric deficit resulting in the body using its own stored source of fuel as energy. A 3500 caloric deficit will result in one pound of weight loss.

Dieting alone may result in more muscle tissue being lost while the body is relying its own stores of fat and muscle as energy. Using ephedra while losing weight has been reported to aid the body in maintaing lean muscle mass while burning more fat for fuel. Since one pound of muscle burns approximatley 50 calories per day as opposed to 2 calories per day for every pound of fat, it is easy to see that the more muscle that is maintained, the quicker the weight will disappear. This will also decrease the likelihood of regaining the weight at a later time. People say a good way of maintaining lean muscle mass while still burning fat is use the ECA stack method.

Keep Yourself Motivated: The Key for Weight Loss Success

How To Make Sure You Will Give Up On Your Weight Loss Resolution In 4 Weeks

If You Are Not A Certified IDIOT and Want to Loss Your Weight INSTANTLY Then CICK HERE

>>  WEIGHT LOSS INSTANTLY - SIMPLE DIET PLAN THAT MAKES YOU CRAZY - CLICK HERE <<

Every year millions of us make a New Year?s resolution to lose weight. Every year millions of us give up before the end of January. Let?s take a look at some of the things we do to set ourselves up for failure year after year.

Super Restrictive Diets

We all like instant gratification. We want to loose 30 pounds in 3 days. That?s what drives us to super restrictive diets that promise immediate fast results. We go on the soup diet, the rice diet or the egg diet. We are bound to give up ? who can eat that stuff for 30 days straight?

The Juice Diet

With this particular diet, you don?t have anything other than water and this disgustingly sweet juice for 48 hours. Sure you?ll lose a few pounds of water when you first try it, but it?s obviously not a long-term diet plan.

Diet Pills

Diet Pills are supposed to work by suppressing your appetite and boosting your metabolism by using caffeine and similar stimulants. They don?t work well long term for two reasons. You don?t feel very well if you?re jacked up on caffeine that much. I tend to get grumpy, impatient and jittery. Secondly, their effects tend to wear off over time. Your body just gets used to all the extra stimulants and you loose the intended benefits and are simply stuck with a caffeine addition.

Low Carb Diet

Any diet that cuts out most of a major food group will be hard to stick with. Low carb diets were all the craze a few years ago, but are slowly starting to fade out. The reason is simple. In the long run, we don?t want to give up bread, pasta and rice.

You already know that these quick fix diets don?t work. You?ve probably made the New Year?s resolution to lose weight a few times and given up sooner or later. Make this year different. How? By using a more common sense approach to dieting. Eat healthy, make small changes to consume fewer calories and get more active. Slow and steady changes in what you eat and what you do will get you there. You will still be sticking to your resolution in February, March, and all the way into December.

Weight Loss Problems Gone Forever

If You Are Not A Certified IDIOT and Want to Loss Your Weight INSTANTLY Then CICK HERE

>>  WEIGHT LOSS INSTANTLY - SIMPLE DIET PLAN THAT MAKES YOU CRAZY - CLICK HERE <<

Imagine if you would for a moment your weight loss problems gone forever. What would your life be like? What kinds of things would you be able to do as a result?

If you were not overweight you might discover what sitting comfortably in a movie theater chair might feel like, or what it would be like to take a long walk with your grandchildren or enjoy the excitement of participating again in your favorite sport. Even your daily routine of toileting, showering and simply getting dressed would be greatly improved.

Continue to imagine...what kind of dreams could you be fulfilling if weight was no longer a concern for you? How would you feel about yourself? How much money would you save? Imagine never again having to worry about gaining weight or losing weight. On top of that imagine being able to eat all you want and never worry about your weight!

You Can Lose Weight And Always Keep?It Off!

I know it sounds too good to be true. However, it's entirely possible to have all that and more. Eating a delicious whole foods, plant based diet can give you all that, plus the added benefit of promoting excellent health. According to T. Colin Campbell, Author of The China Study, a whole foods, plant based diet reduces your risks of heart disease, diabetes, arteriosclerosis, cancer and many other common diseases.

Obesity Is A Huge Problem

We all know obesity is a huge problem in America today. Yet, there's probably not one obese person who enjoys being that way. You don't need the statistics to tell you that 2 out of 3 adults in America are overweight; all you need to do is look around at your friends, family, church members and coworkers.

In 2002 American medical care costs related to obesity were listed at $100 billion dollars. Yes, that's billion! And believe it or not, that's $30 billion dollars more than was spent in 1999. Doesn't it seem absurd that we spend billions of dollars each year on medical care related to obesity when there are millions of starving children in our world! Promoting The Problem

It is unfortunate that we have a system that promotes obesity. Obesity is promoted by the "super size it", "more is better", and "I want it now" mentalities. On top of that, to solve the weight gain problems that our system encourages, the same system promotes "quick fix" weight loss solutions: diet drinks and foods, fad diets, calorie counting, carb counting and food exchange gimmicks.

Now The Solution

Life does not have to be this way. You can experience freedom from weight loss issues and enjoy the best health of your life! You can eliminate all the worries and the guilt associated with wrong eating. You can make eating a joy and a pleasure not a mathematical equation. According to Dr. Campbell, research has shown over and over again that vegetarians and vegans (people who eat no animal products) are typically significantly slimmer than those who eat the standard American diet. In one study overweight subjects were told to eat all they wanted of foods that were mostly low-fat, whole food and plant-based. In three weeks the subjects on average lost 17 pounds each.

Vegetarian Versus Whole, Plant Based Foods

I need to give a word of clarification here. One can be a vegetarian and still be overweight. What happens is some vegetarians simply replace meats with refined grains, pastas, breads and sweets. A whole food, plant-based diet is the key to weight loss and an ongoing healthy lifestyle.

You can eat all you want of plant based foods in their natural forms, i.e. foods that have not been or have been very minimally processed. Some examples would be fresh raw fruits and vegetables, soaked nuts and seeds (not raw or roasted), brown rice, oat groats, various legumes and beans. Examples of foods that don't fit the whole food criteria are breads, pastries, milk, cheese, products with refined sugars or artificial sweeteners, canned fruits, soups, and vegetables etc.

Making the transition to preparing delicious whole food dishes can be challenging at first. An excellent resource for helping you to do so is Rita Romano's recipe book, Dining In The Raw-. Another great resource is Hallelujah Acres at www.hacres.com .

Make Exercise Part Of Your Plan

We all know that exercise promotes weight loss. One study suggests that only 15 to 45 minutes of exercise a day will result in maintaining a body weight that is 11 to 18 pounds lighter than it otherwise would be. However, that's not the whole story. There is also some scientific evidence that suggests that vegetarians have on average a higher metabolic rate, meaning they burn more of their ingested calories rather than depositing them to fat. In another study, rats on mainly a vegetarian diet chose to exercise more than rats on a high animal protein diet.

You Have A Choice

Obesity and weight loss issues affect millions of people in our nation each year. Largely these problems can be eliminated with the proper education and attitude about what kind of foods promote health. Being overweight is not a problem that will ever be corrected by a diet program or a diet drink! Dr. Campbell says, "the diet that helps to reduce weight in the short run needs to be the same diet that creates and maintains health in the long run....we can control the cause (of obesity). It is right at the end of our fork."

What will you choose to do?

Alan LeStourgeon along with his wife Jean run the web site www.ezHealthyDiet.com where they explore what it means to eat a healthy diet, have a healthy home and live a healthier life.

Top Ten Ways To Jump Start Your Weight Loss

If You Are Not A Certified IDIOT and Want to Loss Your Weight INSTANTLY Then CICK HERE

>>  WEIGHT LOSS INSTANTLY - SIMPLE DIET PLAN THAT MAKES YOU CRAZY - CLICK HERE <<

1. Eat protein at every meal, including breakfast.

2. Eliminate wheat- and flour-based products for the time being. And yes, that definitely includes bread and pasta.

3. Eat unprocessed foods. Ninety percent of what you eat should be a combination of (in this order of importance) raw vegetables, steamed vegetables, whole grains, lean protein, and maybe a few fruits if necessary.

4. Reduce starch to one portion a day, and don't eat that portion during your evening meal. Best choices are beans, sweet potatoes, and oatmeal.

5. Don't overdo fruit: one a day maximum, and only the low-sugar, high-fiber variety. Apples, pears, plums and berries all are good choices. For now, fruit should be eaten alone or with something light, like low fat nuts. Lose the fruit juice completely.

6. Reduce or eliminate dairy for the time being, especially cow's milk. Exceptions: reasonable amounts of low sugar, fat free yogurt.

7. Lose the booze. Despite what the "studies" say, you lose no health benefits by giving up alcohol (including wine). There is nothing essential in alcohol that you can't get in fruits and vegetables without all the bad side effects that go along with it.

8. Stop using vegetable oils such as sunflower, safflower and corn. The supermarket kind is highly refined, and it oxidizes easily when heated, contributing to arterial plaque. Use olive oil instead, and apply it to food after the food is cooked when possible.

9. Watch which types of fat you're eating. The amount of fat you eat is probably less important than the kind of fat you eat. The worst are fried foods, margarine and foods that contain hydrogenized or partially hydrogenized oils. The best is omega-3, found in fish and flaxseed oil.

10. Obsessively drink water: At least 8 ounces for every 20 pounds of bodyweight you're now carrying around, each day. Every day. No excuses.

Close Kept Secrets to Weight Loss Lesson

Close Kept Secrets to Weight Loss Lesson

You know how I like to have fun so let's have some FUN today, okay? Seven year old Tami is ready to play!

Are you ready?

Get a mirror and make some faces at yourself....or if you're at work reading this, turn and make a fish face at someone else. Get your family involved at the dinner table and see who can make the best fish face.....give an award for it! I wish you could see my fish face....it is the best! In fact, I'm doing it as I write this.

Here's another idea. I love to play practical jokes. When I was employed as a trainer for a credit union, I played a practical joke that really stunk. Another co-worker and I had similar interests in laughing and playing jokes on people. One time this co-worker was out of town so I decided to get him back for some things he had done like cornering me while I was getting bombarded with tons of water from a squirt gun. Retaliation is good!

I keep things on hand in case of emergencies. You know....break open in case of fun. I have to be ready and armed. I just happened to have a fish head from the World Famous Pike's Place Market in Seattle. This co-worker was going to be gone over a long weekend so I decided to put this fish head in his office, along with an open can of tuna. Well, the weather report called for temperatures in the upper 80's, cooking the inside of his office. You can imagine the aroma!

When we came back on Tuesday, the smell didn't just stay in his office; it permeated a large portion of the branch making the tellers sick and some of the members too. Fans were blowing everywhere trying to remove the pungent odor. Okay, so I did get in trouble for this, but it was so much fun. Would I do it again? Absolutely!

Was there something fishy going on you ask? Yes, there was! Set the intention to live your life on porpoise. Make everyday what it otter be. Hook 'em with laughter. Don't let 'em worm their way out of fun. For the halibut, smile, dance, laugh. Have a whale of a time!

How does this relate to weight loss? When your body is in a high joy vibration, the cells come alive....you know those endorfins--I know this is spelled incorrectly...still going with the fish theme. and toxins are released. Toxins are stored in your fat cells so voila! fat is reduced. This is a simple process to use everyday!

Now, it's your turn. What are you going to do to have fun? Don't you just have the urge to get somebody? Don't clam up....use your creativity and let loose!

Keep up the great work you're doing for yourself. You are the priority! Make every moment an eely good moment!

Love and hugs,

Tami http://www.tamiclose.com http://www.closekeptsecrets.com

"Kaizen" for Weight Loss

If You Are Not A Certified IDIOT and Want to Loss Your Weight INSTANTLY Then CICK HERE

>>  WEIGHT LOSS INSTANTLY - SIMPLE DIET PLAN THAT MAKES YOU CRAZY - CLICK HERE <<

The Kaizen method was developed in Japan as an effective way of achieving huge improvements in business. In it's simplest form, it just means implementing small improvements one after the other. Each tiny step in the right direction builds to a significant improvement over time but without the business having to handle the chaos of a massive transformation.

The method works, because businesses are run by people and it is in the nature of people, in general, to feel uncomfortable with sudden massive change.

And what works for the transformation of a business works for the transformation of a person too!

Diets fail, exercise programs fail for most people - we know that. They fail because they demand you take huge steps to transform your life.

Nevertheless you give it your best shot, because you want the end result. You go from eating fast food and fries with everything to wall-to-wall lettuce and cucumber. You give up spending your evenings on the couch in front of the TV and work out on the equipment at the gym 5 nights a week instead.

You're highly motivated when you start. But soon your enthusiasm wanes and you slide back to how things were. Making huge changes overnight is just too difficult.

The "kaizen" way of losing weight, on the other hand, means making a single small change at a time. You just keep going with it until it feels quite natural. Then you add another and another and another. Don't you think it would be easier to transform your body and your life permanently like that?

If the "make-sudden-mega-changes-in-your-lifestyle" diet and exercise programs you've tried in the past have never actually worked for you on a permanent basis, then why not try a different approach?

This time write down a whole list of all the changes you want to make. Break those changes down into tiny achievable pieces then put them in place one step at a time - the "kaizen" way. It just has to be the easiest way of achieving a new shape.

Don't let your weight loss efforts go off the boil in December. Keep up your motivation with these 10 tips and start January with a smile.

Wanting to lose weight in December is the pits, isn't it? While you may struggle the rest of the year with not eating too much and choosing healthy foods it's that bit more difficult when all around you are wolfing down goodies of every kind with seemingly total abandon.

Everyone you visit offers you tempting treats and no doubt you have more than enough food at home to sink a battleship for the visitors you get. And the food doesn't always stay "just for guests" once it calls your name from the cupboard.

But if you want to avoid regret with even more pounds to lose by January then you need to be stronger than ever.

1. Daily reminder

Every day remind yourself of your reasons for losing weight. Why do you you want this? Why is that important to you? Ask yourself whether any temporary pleasure from food is worth the regret you will feel at going backwards in your plan.

2. Set an intention

Before every meal set an intention that you will enjoy it and have what you want but that you will eat just enough to satisfy your hunger and no more.

3. Enjoy the special foods

Don't deny yourself your favourites but have just a little of those things which you know are full of calories. Enjoy a little as much as a lot by eating the food slowly and really tasting it.

4. Stock up

Treat yourself to some healthy foods that you might not normally buy, such as smoked lean meats and fish, exotic fruits and vegetables, caviar. Make food special without the calories so that you don't feel deprived at all.

5. Quality not quantity

Buy the very best of everything you can afford and savour it. If you're going to buy chocolate get a small box of handmade exquisite Belgian chocolates and not a multi-pack of cheap chocolate bars. That way you really feel you are celebrating in style but you won't go too overboard.

6. Make a Game of "No"

If you tend to eat just because food is offered without even thinking about it, now is a great time to practise saying "No thanks not just now" or even "Thanks - I'll take a piece for later" because food will be offered everywhere you go! Look at this like a game you are playing and keep your score. How many times can you say "no" in December?

7. Deal with lapses

If you over-indulge at any time, don't abandon all hope and give up until the party season is over. One meal won't do much damage - after all you have to eat an additional 3500 calories to gain a pound. It's when you do this day in day out for the whole period that you start piling on the pounds. So just get right back on track and start again at the very next meal - eat when you're hungry, stop when you're full.

8. Keep up your exercise

Even if you're too busy to go to the gym, do a little every day at home. Even 10 minutes walking or stair-stepping a day will help remind you that you are taking active steps towards your goal and will help you avoid thoughts of giving up for the month. If you can fit in several sessions through the day so much the better. When you keep as active as possible as you go about your day you will be gently reminding yourself that you care about your shape and your health and it will be easier to keep things in check.

9. Looking good

Wear your nicest clothes throughout the period. Make the effort with your hair, nails and makeup and show yourself that you deserve the very best. Instead of giving yourself food as a reward or when you you need cheering up, give yourself the best possible care and attention.

10. Gift of health

If you have a tradition of giving presents in December (or even if you don't) ask for or treat yourself to a few gifts that will help motivate you. An exercise video, a voucher for a personal trainer or a piece of home gym equipment ( such as a rebounder, step or balance ball) are great to help kick start a new exercise plan.

Weight Loss Tip : Treat yourself like a Child

6 keys to losing weight permanently by treating yourself like a precious child.

Whenever you feel your motivation slipping give yourself a boost by treating yourself like a precious child.

1. Talk to yourself kindly

You encourage your children to do their best and to have another go when they fail. You don't say "Might as well give up then, you're useless at this. You'll never succeed". If they're learning something new, you encourage them to keep practising until it becomes second nature. Give yourself the same wise words when you're trying to lose weight! You can do this! You really can!

2. Nourish yourself

Would you let a child stand at the fridge wolfing down a whole tub of cookie dough ice cream? Would you let them ask for a chocolate biscuit and then eat the packet empty? Why not? You know what's good for them, that's why not!

Parents who care for their children don't feed them a lot of junk food, coffee, wine and cigarettes. Aside from the legalities of it all, they want their children to grow up healthy, fit and strong. Why would you want any less for your own health?

Give yourself the very best nourishment you can. Eat lean meat, fish, healthy carbs and vegetables and allow yourself the odd treat. Don't spoil your appetite for healthy meals by eating unhealthy snacks all day - give junk food the thumbs down.

3. Play

Children's bodies cry out for physical activity so we take our children out and give them lots of active play. But what are we doing for ourselves while we are running around chauffeuring them from one thing to the next? Are we just complaining we haven't got time to exercise?  Carve some time out of your schedule every day to do something active, even if it's just a 10-minute walk at lunchtime. No child deserves to be cooped up all day and neither do you. You can't expect to perform at your peak if you only ever move between your desk and the coffee machine or the sofa and the fridge.

4. Stick with It long term

When you have a child, you're in it for the long haul. You're not here one day and gone the next. You commit to taking responsibility for the child's welfare at least until they grow up and probably for long after that. So why should it be any different where your own health and welfare is concerned? You deserve long term care, not a two-week crash diet "that's all I'm giving it" before going back to abusing your body. Make a commitment to care for your health forever.

5. Be Consistent

You care for a precious child day in day out. You don't give the child lots of love and care on Monday only to neglect him or her by Friday. That's exactly how you treat yourself when you start a new diet every other week. You need to be consistent in treating yourself well to get great results.

6. Make it routine

Children thrive on routine. Despite their protests they love the security of knowing the rules of the house and someone caring whether they keep to them or not. They like order and certainty about how things are done.

Adults are no different. Everyone is a creature of habit to some extent.

When we have good habits we eat healthily and move our bodies without thinking about it. And we reach our weight loss and fitness goals as a result of following our habits - almost automatically.

If you don't have a good routine, like any child you need some discipline to keep to the habits which are for your benefit in the long term. But after a while you will find you settle into your new routines without a fuss - after all they feel so natural and they're doing you good.

It takes just 21 days of consistent practise to form a new habit. So start today and create a slim, healthy and fit new you one habit at a time.

7 Simple Weight Loss Feasting Tips For The Holiday Season

If You Are Not A Certified IDIOT and Want to Loss Your Weight INSTANTLY Then CICK HERE

Here comes Halloween... and the start of the "season of feasting" for a lot of folks around here.

It's become a sort of time-honored "tradition" for Americans to put on weight between Halloween and New Year's Day. Some would even say it's to be expected -- "After all, it's the holidays!", they say.

Now, I love the holidays. And I bet you do too. Who wouldn't love all the great treats and wonderful foods that just seem to spring up around us during the holiday season, right?

But don't you just hate it when you step on the scales after the holidays, and discover you've put on weight?

Fret not, for I'm here to show you how you can have fun during the holidays and enjoy all your favorite holiday treats, _without_ putting on any extra pounds.

Here are 7 Simple Weight Loss Feasting Tips for the Holiday Season...

1. Give yourself permission - Go ahead and eat anything you want during the holiday season. Halloween, Christmas, New Year's, it doesn't matter. Yes, you can have all your favorite foods. Isn't it refreshing to know that you don't have to abstain from your perennial favorites? You see, we tend to want more of what we cannot have. The more you try to stop yourself from eating something, the more you want to eat it. And when you do give in to the temptation, you'll tend to overeat. Here's the secret: It's not "all or nothing". Have anything you want, as long as you remember not to go overboard and consume too much.

2. Be clear of your goals - There must be a reason why you want to keep your weight down. If you don't already have a reason, now's the time to sit down and think of as many as possible. This step is critical if you want to be able to enjoy your holidays and maintain your weight throughout. You need to be crystal-clear about your "Why". Why do you want to lose weight? How would you feel if you end up putting on weight? Conversely, how would you feel if you can go through the holidays and yet maintain your current weight? Think about these questions carefully, and build up your arsenal of "reasons why". The next time you are tempted to overeat, recall these reasons again and they'll help you to stay in control.

3. Have a little of everything - Remember how it's not "all or nothing"? The secret to enjoying all the great food without the subsequent guilt is to have a little of everything. Just remember to control your serving portion sizes. You have permission to eat all kinds of food, but this doesn't mean you can go out there and devour extra- large portions of everything with super-generous gravy toppings, ok?

4. Be careful of the little nibbles - Sometimes, it's not the big-time party or pig-out feasting session that causes you to gain weight. On the contrary, it's exactly the opposite -- it's the little candy and chocolate bar that you pick up to nibble on, everything time you open the fridge or walk past the office candy bowl. All these little snacks in between meal times can (and will!) add up to a lot of extra calories. This sneaky little problem is something that has caught many women off-guard. And now that you know this, it's easy to catch yourself in the act the next time it happens to you!

5. Be smart - They're certainly trying, but don't be fooled by the retailers and their fancy packaging and labels. Have you noticed a lot of the packaging now screams out phrases such "fewer calories", "low fat", "less sugar", "low carb" and etc? Whilst all these claims are true, it does NOT mean you can eat more and have bigger portions. Remember: "fewer/low/less" doesn't mean "Zero/None/Without". Also, it's pretty usual that when something comes with less of one thing, it has more of the other stuff e.g. lower carb, but more calories.

6. Use the healthier versions - Many of the sweets and treats offer you a choice of healthier versions. So when you can, please do opt for the low-calorie, reduced sugar, or lower fat varieties.

7. Choose the right chocolate - And if you must have chocolate, please go for dark chocolate and avoid the milk chocolate. By far, dark chocolate is the best choice as it has antioxidant properties that can protect the body from damaging oxidative stress. So there you have it, consuming a moderate amount of dark chocolates is actually healthy for you!

So, who says you can't have your cake and eat it too?
